Thomas Newman Design
Hello! Here are some aspects of my personal brand as a graphic designer and illustrator. You'll find insights into the logo design and how it holds up in it's various forms, colour and typography choices, and character filled secondary assets
logo
Variation
This is a super clean, simple and functional logo with a non-literal symbol
The intention was to be different and recognisable. In terms of meaning, the upturned crown represents turning an idea on its head...but is also an abstraction of my beard
wordmark
This wordmark is just as clean, functional and recognisable as the logo
The elevated N draws focus to the icon which will be used pervasively but also acknowledges hierarchy, both in design and with reference to the upturned crown
scalability
hidden
features
By positioning the crown in such a way the Adobe illustrator selection tool is partially hidden in the logo

Additionally the width of the N is 1.618 times wider than the crown...the golden ratio
...this isn't necessarily the best way to apply the golden ratio, but the intention is to appreciate this as an aspect of design rather than to make the logo aesthetically pleasing
